Call for Applications

The Call for Application for the project is currently open and we invite applications for 9 PhD candidates for the Doctoral Network ‘SureROB: SUstainable and REconfigurable ROBots for green manufacturing’.

Introduction

SureROB, i.e. SUstainable and REconfigurable ROBots for green manufacturing is a Doctoral Network funded by Horizon Europe under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) program. The project is coordinated by the Technical University of Darmstadt and will be executed by 6 Academic Partners and 4 Industrial Partners spread across 7 Countries.
The project will last for 4 years, during which the Doctoral Cadidates will be employed for 3 years. The project will start on 01.01.2026 and the on-boarding of the Doctoral Candidates will take place from 07.2026 onwards.

Employment conditions and benefits

The Doctoral Candidates will be employed by Academic Partners based in Germany, France, and Italy. The location will depend on the individual project that the candidate has selected and applied for. Every Doctoral Candidate will be enrolled in a Doctoral School for a PhD. The granting of the PhD title and degree will depend on the rules and regulations of the respective Doctoral School.

Gross SalaryThe gross salary* of each candidate will consist of three components:

1. The living allowance, which amounts to 4010 €/month. This amount is adjusted according to the country in which the candidated is recruited
2. Mobility allowance, which amounts to 710 €/month, and
3. Family allowance (if applicable, depending on the family situation), which amounts to 660 €/month.

Please note that the salary contributions described above are according to the budget categories for MSCA doctoral networks. Social security, mandatory deductions, and taxes have not been considered. The final salary received by the candidate will depend on the country of recruitment.
*Please note that gross salary is calculated before taxes and social security components. The gross salary will be subject to taxes and social security contributions which will depend on the country of employment.
MobilityAll selected candidates will have to undertake mobility. Each Doctoral Candidate will have an 18 month research stay with an academic parner and a 18 month stay with an industrial partner, offering the Doctoral candidate exposure to both academic and industrial research environments. Eligibility Criterion1. Recruited researchers musts be doctoral candidates, i.e. not already in possession of a doctoral degree at the date of the recruitment.

2. Recruited researchers can be of any nationality and must comply with the following mobility rule:
they must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before their recruitment date.

3. Every Doctoral candidate must spend at least 50% of their fellowship duration in the non-academic sector i.e. with the Industrial partner.

4. The Recruited researchers must hold a Masters degree or must obtain a Masters degree before the start of the contract.
